Born in Copenhagen, working globally

We founded Portchain to digitalize the berth alignment process and unlock Just-In-Time Operations at scale. We have come a long way from a startup with a bold idea to a trusted partner for terminals and carriers worldwide.

The Portchain Network includes 150+ container terminals and top-10 shipping lines worldwide.

Every port call counts. 800,000t of CO₂ avoided.

Portchain’s contribution

Through Q3 2025, Portchain’s solutions contributed to preventing 800,000 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions. By enabling more efficient operations and streamlining communication between terminals and carriers, Portchain is helping to reduce idle time, optimize berth allocation, and ultimately lower fuel consumption. This CO2 savings figure is a testament to the Portchain Network and the collective efforts of our partners and clients who are committed to making the shipping industry more efficient, predictable, and green.

800,000t

Prevented CO2 emissions

by implementing Portchain solutions

654,922

Equivalent to removing over 654,922 cars

from the road during a whole year

13M

Equivalent to planting 13 million trees

and growing them for ten years

Leveraging berth alignment means cost savings and sustainability goals go hand-in-hand

Just-In-Time (JIT) arrivals allow vessels to optimize speed during their voyage to arrive at port without any waiting time. A study released by the IMO calculates that the potential of JIT to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions is 5.9% when the carrier and port align 24 hours before arrival, and up to 14% when they align before the vessel leaves the previous port.

Through Portchain, carriers and terminals have already proven up to 9% in fuel savings, and 2-4% on average.
